Legendary Superbowl snacks whether you’re hosting 1 person or 20!

It does not matter if you watch the Superbowl, only there for the MnM commercials, are a chronic TV muter or simply just enjoy the halftime show- the best part about Superbowl has to be your company and THE FOOD.

Here are The Alpines’s Teams top picks for this year’s superbowl! 

Appetizer: LIL’ SMOKIES 

  • Serves 8, Prep Time: 5 minutes , Cook Time: 2 hours 

Ingredients: 

  • 2 – 16 ounce packages little smokies
  • 1 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar*
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

How to: 

  • Add lil smokies to the bottom of a slow cooker 
  • Mix all other ingredients in a bowl and pour on top of the lil smokies directly into the slow cooker. 
  • Cook on low for 2-3 hours 

Main dish: WINGS 

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes, Cook Time: 45 minutes

 Ingredients: 

  •  1/3 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 10 chicken wingettes just means tips removed, thawed

How to:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and line a baking sheet with foil- then dot the foil with butter. 
  • In a bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, and salt and pepper.
  • Coat each side of the wings evenly in the flour mixture and space evenly among the butter on the baking sheet 
  • Cook for 30 minutes then turn each wing over to cook for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Serve with your favorite sauce. 

Side dishes: RO*TEL + CHIPS 

  • Cook time 10 minutes 

 Ingredients: 

  • 1 10 ounce can of Ro*Tel original diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained 
  • 1 16 ounce package of Velveeta original cheese cut into 1/2 inch square blocks. 
  • 1 Bag of Juanita’s Gluten Free chips (my favorite) 

How to:

  • Combine Velveeta and tomatoes into a medium saucepan and melt/ stir mixture for 5 minutes until a queso consistency.

Dessert:  CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES

  • Just in time for Valentines Day – Prep time/ Cook time : 5 minutes

 Ingredients: 

  • 10 ounce package of Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips 
  • 2 pounds of fresh strawberries 

How to:

  • Wash your strawberries and dry them WELL
  • Pour milk chocolate into microwavable bowls, microwaving the chips in 30 second intervals, stirring in between until fully melted. 
  • Dip strawberries in until fully coated and lay them on a baking sheet and or plate to cool- does not matter too much.
